FAQs

Marketing Collateral & Print Design

1. What types of marketing materials can you design?

I create a full range of marketing collateral, including flyers, brochures, business cards, event guides, presentation templates, social media graphics, and digital assets. Each piece is designed to work cohesively with your brand identity and achieve your specific marketing goals.

2. Can you help if I'm tired of struggling with Canva templates?

This is exactly what I help businesses overcome! While DIY tools have their place, nothing replaces professional design expertise. I can create custom templates and marketing materials that are uniquely yours, ensuring your brand stands out rather than looking like everyone else using the same templates.

3. Do you design for both print and digital media?

Yes! I understand the technical requirements for both mediums. Whether you need high-resolution files for professional printing or optimised graphics for websites and social media, I'll deliver the right specifications for each application.

4. In what formats will I receive my design files?

For marketing collateral, you'll receive high-resolution PDFs for print and JPEGs/PNGs for digital use. These final deliverable files give you everything needed for implementation. For branding and logo projects, you'll also receive the raw vector files of the final approved concept, ensuring you have complete ownership and flexibility for future use.

5. How do you ensure my marketing materials grab attention in today's crowded marketplace?

I focus on strategic design principles that cut through the noise. This means using bold visual hierarchy to guide the eye, strategic colour choices that align with psychology and your brand, and typography that's both readable and memorable.

I consider your target audience's preferences and behaviours, ensuring the design speaks directly to them. Most importantly, I focus on clear, compelling messaging paired with visuals that stop the scroll or catch the eye in print – because you have just seconds to make that crucial first impression before they move on to the next option.

Logo Design & Branding

6. What's included in a logo design package?

This depends on the package you select. Entry-level packages include one concept, whilst premium packages offer multiple concepts to choose from. All packages focus on strategic design that solves your specific business challenges.

You'll receive either a single logo or logo variations, depending on your package, presented in various colour ways and file formats. Each package also includes a style guide – from a mini guide for smaller projects to an extended brand guidelines document for comprehensive packages – ensuring you can apply your new brand consistently across all touchpoints.

7. How long does it take to create a new logo?

Logo projects typically take roughly a month from initial consultation to final delivery. This timeline includes strategy development, concept creation, revisions, and providing you with all the file formats and guidelines you'll need. The strategic foundation work is crucial – it's what ensures your logo truly represents your business and resonates with your target audience.

8. Can you redesign my existing logo?

Yes! Whether your current logo looks like a "generic placeholder" or simply needs updating to better reflect your business growth, I can help refresh your brand identity whilst maintaining any equity you've built in your existing brand recognition.

9. Do you create brand guidelines and style guides?

Absolutely. Consistent brand application is crucial for building recognition and trust. I provide comprehensive brand guidelines that cover logo usage, colour palettes, typography, and application examples to ensure your brand maintains its integrity across all touchpoints.

10. What makes your approach different from other graphic designers?

I'm not just about making things look pretty – I'm your brand's personal stylist for visuals. I focus on strategic design that grabs attention and communicates your message effectively. I understand that you have seconds to make a first impression, so every design decision is purposeful and results-driven.

Design Process & Collaboration

11. How does your design process work?

My process has three key stages:

  • Understand (discussing your needs and defining project scope),

  • Design (creating strategic, visually stunning solutions),

  • and Deliver (collaborating closely with regular updates and feedback). I believe in transparency and keeping you involved every step of the way.

12. What information do you need to start a project?

I'll need to understand your business, target audience, project goals, and any existing brand elements. The design brief is crucial – it helps me understand your requirements, target audience, the purpose of your design and how you want to use it. I'll discuss your preferences, inspirations, and specific requirements during our initial consultation.

13. How involved will I be in the design process?

Very involved! I welcome your feedback and provide regular updates throughout the project. This collaborative approach ensures the final design truly reflects your vision whilst benefiting from my strategic design expertise.

14. How many revisions are included in your projects?

Each project includes two rounds of revisions to ensure we achieve the perfect result. This collaborative approach allows us to refine the design based on your feedback whilst maintaining project efficiency and timeline.

15. What if I need additional revisions beyond the included rounds?

If you need additional revisions beyond the two included rounds, I can discuss this on a project-by-project basis. I'm committed to your satisfaction and will work with you to find the best solution for your specific needs.

Timeline & Delivery

16. What is the typical turnaround time for projects?

It depends on the size and complexity of the project. Most design projects take anywhere from 1-2 weeks, though this can vary. For simple marketing materials, it might be quicker, whilst comprehensive branding projects may take longer. If you need something urgently, please let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate tight deadlines.

17. Can you work with tight deadlines?

Yes! I have experience "turning around complex briefs into simple, beautiful designs in often very tight timeframes." However, I always recommend allowing adequate time for the best results and proper collaboration.

18. How will I receive my design files?

I'll send your compressed design files via email or an external file sharing service. You'll receive everything organised and clearly labelled for easy use.

Ownership & Investment

19. Will the artwork be my property?

Yes, the artwork I've designed for you will always remain your property once final payment has been received and your project is completed. You'll own all rights to use the designs as you wish.

This is outlined in the services agreement that is signed before the project commences. Raw files and native files in marketing collateral remain under my ownership, whilst final deliverables will be transferred to the client. For branding and logo files, raw vector files of the final approved concept are transferred to the client.

20. How much do your design services cost?

Investment varies depending on project scope and complexity. I provide detailed quotes after our initial consultation so you know exactly what to expect. My focus is on delivering strategic designs that provide excellent return on investment through improved brand recognition and customer attraction.

21. When do I need to pay?

For smaller projects, I typically require payment upfront. For larger, more complex projects, I ask for a 50% deposit before design work commences, with the final payment due before files are delivered.

22. Do you offer payment plans or packages?

Yes, I can work with you on payment arrangements that suit your business needs. I also offer package deals for comprehensive brand identity projects that include logos, business cards, and marketing collateral.

23. Do you work with businesses of all sizes?

Absolutely! I work with everyone from solo entrepreneurs and startups to established businesses looking to refresh their brand. Whether you're building a brand from scratch or enhancing your existing visual identity, I can help you create designs that resonate with your target audience.

24. Are you only available to Melbourne businesses?

While I'm based in Melbourne, I work with clients across Australia.

25. What if I need changes after the project is completed?

I offer ongoing support and am always available for future updates or modifications. Many clients return for additional marketing materials or brand extensions as their business grows.
